Luis, Gigi and I are thumping up and down the island.
We’ve been to "Crashboat," Borinquen beach, Jobos, Boqueron in Cabo Rojo, and snorkeled in "Shacks." I’ve enjoyed an "asopado de mariscos con mofongo" in the beautiful mountains of Moca.
Last night I was invited to preach in a small Pentecostal church–my Mom’s church–it was an honor to oblige. I shared about the Road to Emmaus in Luke 24. I was fascinated to see in my research that the Word "Emmaus" means "a despised people" or an "obscure people."
I spoke about the disillusionment of the disciples after the resurrection and the hope renewed after their encounter with the risen Christ. Regardless of our crisis, chaos, or cross, Christ is our living hope!
After our west coast tour we are going to San Juan today. We’ll keep you posted.
Shalom!
dave,
love the Emmaus insight.
It’s awesome to reconnect with our roots.
