Latino Leadership Circle (LLC) Troubled with the Increased Violence Against the Asian community in the United States

April 7, 2021

Since the pandemic started, there have been more than 3,000 incidents of hate reported by the community organization Stop AAPI Hate, a coalition of non-profits advocating for the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) population.
There is both fear and concern among the Asian American community about how best to address these unprovoked attacks. We are increasingly grieved with the violence being perpetrated on the AAPI community. We cannot simply categorize these incidents as sad occasions of violence in our society. We must engage this evil with awareness, increased vigilance, prayer, and education in our respective communities.

Members of the Latino Leadership Circle are joined by guest panelists Jennifer Chan, Director of Missional Church, City to City NY, and Rev. Reyn Cabinte, Senior Pastor Uptown Community Church, NYC to discuss Asian Hate: Why We Should Care & What We Can Do About It.

Our April podcast episode will be dedicated to this issue and how the Latin@ faith community can help “Stop the Hate”.

LLC has created a statement of solidarity with Asian community over the recent violence. Read it here.
