Dear friends of LaFe,
I cannot believe it has
only been two and a half years since LaFe04, our first national Latino student
conference. We have spent the last two years preparing for LaFe07, to be held
this December 27-31, 2007, using the lessons we learned from LaFe04. As the
LaFe National Director and LaFe04 Director, it was a privilege to see the
strength and depth of the LaFe staff team working at LaFe04. It was a vision
come true for me.
One of our hopes is that
this conference will continue to help strengthen our ministry to Latino
students. Our passion is to see these students become leaders on campus, in
their communities, and in the mission field and that their impact will reach
across all ethnic communities.
We are very
excited about the opportunities that will be available to the 300 students we
are expecting this year. One of those opportunities is that they will get to
hear two great keynote speakers: Dr. Isaac Canales, longtime friend of IV and
former IV Board member, and Jen Huerta Ball, GLA Divisional Director. Both are
dynamic speakers who communicate well to students with truth, love and grace.
We are
thankful for the ways many you been supportive of the LaFe Ministry over the
years. Your encouragement, prayers and/or financial giving have been a great
blessing to us. We would like to ask for your prayers and financial partnership
for LaFe07 as well.
In hopes of
making this conference affordable to students, we are once again underwriting a
majority of the conference. We want to invite you as a friend LaFe to invest
financially in this important conference. Would you consider sponsoring one
Latino college student to attend the conference by giving a $250 contribution?
We are hoping to raise $100K, which includes $23K in scholarships. If you can
help us at this time, please let me know of your desired partnership as soon as
possible so that we have time to make appropriate budget decisions regarding
scholarship support for students.
