Do Something About Injustice

“…When the Lord noticed that justice had disappeared, he became very displeased. It disgusted him even more to learn that no one would do a thing about it…”

I CAN HARDLY TAKE IT ANYMORE SINCE I WAS BORN HERE AN A LATINO,I HAVE SEEN RACIAL INJUSTICE TO LATINOS, NOW THEY SAY WE ARE FILLING UP THE JAILS, THE WHITE PEOPLE GET HELP INSTEAD OF JAILTIME, I KNOW THIS BECAUSE MY WHITE FRIEND TELLS ME EVERYTHING, THEY ARE GIVEN ALL KINDS OF HELP WHILE WE ARE PUT IN JAIL, THEY ARE TOLD BY THE POLICE “GO AHEAD BE CAREFUL” AN NOT GIVEN TICKETS. WE JUST WALK DOWN THE STREET AN WE ARE BEATEN ALMOST TO DEATH. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD LOOK INTO ALL THESE NICE “PROGRAMS” THAT THEY HAVE FOR WHITE PEOPLE. CALIFORNIA IS FINALLY MICHEAL JACKSONS DREAM COME TRUE ITS EBONY AN IVORY LIVING IN PERFECT HARMONY. WILL GOOD FOR THEM FINALLY THEY HAVE SOME RELIEF, AN I LOVE ALL PEOPLE BUT WE ARE TREATED THE WAY THAT ALL MEN SHOULD BE TREATED. WITH DIGNITY, AN THE SAME JUSTICE THAT THEY ARE TREATED WITH. I WAS GIVEN A FINE AN I WENT TO COURT, THE LADY IN FRONT OF ME HAD THE SAME EXACT FINE AN THE JUDGE REDUCED HER FINE TO 15 DOLLARS AN ME HE CHARGED ME 297.00 AN SAID OH JUDGE SHE HAD THE SAME EXACT FINE AN U CHARGED HER ONLY 15 AN HE SAID SHUT UP OR I WILL ADD ON 15 MORE DOLLARS TO U IS THAT WHAT U WANT? EVERY ONE WAS SILENT. AN A MAN CAME UP TO ME AN ASKED ME IF I WANTED HIM TO PAY MY FINE FOR ME, AN I SAID NO. HE WAS WHITE, I KNOW HE KNEW HOW WRONG THAT WAS. WE NEED TO EXPOSE THESE PROGRAMS TO THE PUBLIC SO THEY CAN SEE WHY WE ARE,SO MANY OF US THAT ARE BEING INCARCERATED. WHAT IS EXPOSED INTO THE LIGHT LOSES ITS POWER.

  2. Dearest Frances,
I share your same sentiment. We live in a very shady world. I guess you could say people have grown tired of the “game playing”. But it is reality. And it’s not OK to go ahead and sit back and allow it. Maybe you could start something. Find people to rally with you.
Yes, What is exposed to the light, definitely loses it’s power!

  3. In keeping with the titled post about ‘Do Something About Injustice’, I found this and would like to share it. Be blessed by it as was I!
    Let the Rich Man Go
    Dr. Ray Pritchard
A pastor told me the following story. It seems that in his congregation there was a very rich man who decided to leave the church because the pastor was preaching through Romans and the rich man thought the book was “too difficult.” He didn’t like the pastor preaching on such a “difficult book” and so he decided it was time to leave. Although I didn’t inquire into all the details, I know that it is never easy when someone leaves the church because he doesn’t like what we are preaching. We know we aren’t supposed to take it personally, that sometimes it’s better for people to leave than to stay and be unhappy, and that constant controversy will not be good for the church. The fact that the man was wealthy simply means that his leaving may negatively impact the church’s financial condition.
Where did the man go? “He left and started his own church,” said the pastor. That’s not the first time that’s happened.
It was obviously a painful experience. But the pastor said he had searched his heart and held nothing against the rich man who left. What was done was done.
What do you do in a situation like that? Let the rich man go. And then let go of any lingering feelings in your heart. That’s what the pastor has done, and he is better off for it.
By the way, once the rich man left, the giving actually went up, not down. I love that part of the story. It’s nice when that happens, but even when it doesn’t, let the rich man go.
And let the pastor preach on.
