The Latina/o Collegium of Princeton Theological Seminary invites you to attend their “Herencia” Lectures

The Latina/o Collegium, a collaborative effort composed of the Hispanic Leadership Program, Hispanic Theological Initiative, the Association of Latina(o)/Hispanic American Seminarians through the Office of Multicultural Relations cordially invites you to attend the Herencia [“Heritage”] Lectures. As you know the Church and its institutions are confronted by the phenomenon of an ever growing presence of Latina(o)/Hispanic population. Masses in parishes around the country are burgeoning with recent arrivals from south of the border. This spiritual and ecclesiological appreciation of Latina(o)/Hispanic immigration can be broadened still further by placing it within the context of changes in the profile of Christianity at the global level. The Herencia Lectures with its invited guests will seek to explore the nuances of this seismic shift in Christianity and hopefully will lead to further dialogue and research.

On Monday,September 29, 2008, at 7:00pmthe Latina/o Collegium will be featuring Dr. Ada Maria Isasi-Diaz, professor of Ethics and Theology at the Theological and Graduate Schools of Drew University. It will be an honor if you would grace us with your attendance at the lecture entitled: It’s More Than Just Spanish! Theology and Praxis offered by Dr. Isasi-Diaz will take place in the Main Lounge.

On Tuesday, October 14th at 7:00pm the Herencia Lectures will conclude with a worship experience in Miller Chapel entitled: “Levantando Nuestra Voz” [“Lifting Up Our Voice”] with the guest preacher the Rev. Raul Ruiz, pastor of the Spanish American Baptist Church in Union City, NJ. We hope that you will be able to attend this time of corporate worship. Attached you will find detailed information regarding the Herencia Lectures. Thank you for considering this invitation and a response at your earliest convenience will certainly be appreciated.
