Che is an epic story of revolution starring Academy Award winning actor Benicio Del Toro as Che Guevara. Made in the style of films like Lawrence of Arabia, Che was shot in two parts that will be presented together during an exclusive week-long engagement in New York and LA beginning on December 12th.

This "Special Roadshow Edition," complete with a program guide and intermission, will be a unique opportunity to see the film in its entirety. Directed by Academy Award winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh, the movie will also be released as Che Part One and Che Part Two nationwide on January 9th.

About the film:

The most eagerly awaited event at Cannes last May, Steven Soderbergh’s sweeping, Spanish-language meditation on the theory and practice of guerrilla warfare focuses on the two key episodes in Ernesto “Che” Guevara’s military career. Benicio Del Toro (Best Actor at Cannes) brilliantly embodies the Argentine-born revolutionary, but Che is hardly a biopic. Rather, it’s a structuralist epic that in the tradition of Roberto Rossellini’s historical dramas objectively ponders the flow of history. The first two hours, mainly set in the late 1950s, concern the miraculous success of the Cuban Revolution. The second part dwells in harrowing detail on Guevara’s doomed attempt to repeat this victory a decade later in Bolivia. At once boldly simplified and massively detailed, this didactic, dialectical and dazzlingly choreographed combat film challenges us to confront a figure as relevant to our times as he was to his own.

  1. Last night Gigi and I saw Che. It was great! Kudos for fellow Boricua Benicio del Toro who conducts a brilliant performance! The film’s attention to detail and depiction of the events of the revolution give the viewer a sense of watching history. The whole event was five hours long and the atmosphere in the theater was more like watching a play than a film. Both parts I and II received a eubillant applause from the audience. If you are interested today is the last day to view this special opportunity to view both parts in one sitting.
