At this time in NYC history, faith leaders are poised to make an important contribution to public life. Faith leaders are great at gathering people for worship, but now it’s time to gather people for social change! In contrast to instrumental forms of organizing, faith-rooted organizing gathers people to transform the world from the deepest wells of our faith.
Auburn Seminary recently released a study on faith-rooted initiatives, which documents the role of faith communities galvanizing organizing work for justice. Come and learn the principles and practices from many of the leaders of the movement in this one day conference.
The registration fee is $20. All confirmed participants will receive a copy of Peter Heltzel and Alexia Salvatierra’s new book Faith-Rooted Organizing on the day of the conference.
